| Biography
Frank Miller
(Ph.D., Ohio State University, 1980; M.F.A., Ohio State,
1975) is a Lecturer and serves on the advisory board of
the GSU Players, the university’s theater organization.
Prior to teaching at Georgia State University, Dr. Miller
taught at the Alliance Theatre School, the Callanwolde Fine
Arts Center, the University of South Alabama, and the University
of the South. He has also served as the Managing Director
of Theatre Gael, and Manager and Senior Writer in Public
Relations for the Turner Broadcasting System. Serving as
a teacher of acting and directing at Georgia State, he has
directed or acted in plays that have been performed at the
Jewish Theatre of the South, Theatre in the Square, Theatre
Gael, 7 Stages, T.H.E. Theatre, Ltd., the Center for Puppetry
Arts, and various southern universities. Miller has also
published four books with Turner Publishing, including The
Movies We Love (1996); Censored Hollywood: Sex, Violence,
and Sin in the Movies (1994); MGM Posters: The Golden Years
(1994); and Casablanca: As Time Goes By (1992). He has served
as a Screenwriting grant reviewer for the National Endowment
of the Arts, served as advisor for the Southeast Playwrights
Project, and is President and a member of the Board of Directors
for Actors in Renasence Theatre Lab. He recently presented
a paper on “The Transgressive Theatre of Sky Gilbert”
at ATHE.
