Studies Master's students use the facilities in the Digital Arts
Entertainment Lab (DAEL) which is located in the One Park Place
South building.
D.A.E.L. FACILITIES
EDITING LABS
On the second floor of One Park Place South , there is a lab for
graduate student editing use and a lecture room. The editing lab
is for students who are in a class assigned to that lab or who
are registered for Practicum hours and have paid their supply
card fees.
200 - Digital Post-Production Lab equipped with Final Cut Pro
editing stations along with Beta, DV and SVHS dubbing decks and
projection.
202 - Lecture Room.
PRODUCTION STUDIO & THEATER
With the exception of the Equipment Checkout Cage, students must
be accompanied by a faculty member to use the theater or studio
areas.

The Department
of Communication has affiliations with two interdisciplinary centers
that permit faculty to engage with colleagues outside of the department.
The Center for
International Media Education (CIME) is to assist the development
of journalism and journalism education through exchanges of information,
faculty, students and professional journalists. Dr.
Leonard Teel serves as Director of CIME. Most recently, CIME
has concentrated its efforts in the Middle East and North Africa
where it has established academic partnerships with journalism
programs abroad and conducted training workshops for non-governmental
organizations and professional journalists. CIME has also sponsored
more than sixty World Media Forums that bring journalists from
around the world to dialog with students at Georgia State and
its long-distance learning partners.

The
Center for Research in Atypical Development and Learning (CRADL)
is a research center devoted to the study of children who face
challenges during development. Mary
Ann Romski serves as Director of CRADL, with faculty from
the Department of Communication, Psychology, and Educational Psychological
and Special Education participating in Center activities. The
Center fosters interdisciplinary grant collaborations, lectures
from experts in the field and brown bag lunches on important topics
in the community.
