INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVES

.....The National Debate Project has finalized an arrangement with the Escuela Galan, a Columbian non-profit organization in Bogota to provide an urban debate league program for socio-economically challenged secondary and college students to create an infrastructure for the promotion of skills to build democracy in Columbia. The program will be offered in Spanish with NDP materials and consultants providing training for the initial program implementation.

.....In the summer of 2007, the National Debate Project also strengthened its relationship with the Korean debate community. Faculty members served as the Tabulation Director of the 2007 Korean High School Debate Championship at CheongShim International Academy. The NDP also helped staff the 2007 Asian Debate Institute for high school and university students from South Korea and several other Asian countries. In 2008, NDP faculty members joined educators from around the world to teach English through debate to graduate students enrolled in the Korean Development Institute School.
