The Department of Communication is proud to announce that GSUTV stands out as a relevant contender among the most prestigious in the television production industry after acquiring—not one, not two but—FIVE 2019 EMMY award nominations. An Emmy Award, or simply Emmy, recognizes excellence in the television industry, and is the equivalent of an Academy Award, the Tony Award, and the Grammy Award.

Bob Judson—the managing director of GSUTV, Professor of Practice for the Department of Communication and 40 year media professional—had this to say about the achievement:

GSUTV is honored to be nominated for five Southeast Region Emmy Awards. It was only through the diligent and focused efforts of our students and staff that we have been able to achieve this industry recognition.

GSUTV continues to lead the way in providing students with signature experiences, hands-on training, and real-world opportunities to create & develop a league of exceptional industry professionals ready for the workforce. This prestigious honor is a reflection of the consistent dedication, diligence and stellar work ethic that GSUTV students & staff pour into every project. We are so proud of you GSUTV! Keep up the great work!
