GSUTV’s small (and safe) crew was in Cleveland interviewing photojournalist Ron Haeberle for the third Vietnam series. Ron was present on the ground in the village of My Lai on March 16, 1968 when over 500 Vietnamese women and children were massacred by American GI’s. His pictures of the My lai Massacre in 1969 appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer calling attention to the atrocity. Ron is seen here being interviewed by Trang Mint a GSU grad student from Hanoi. Trang is also the Vietnamese producer from VTV3 who assisted GSUTV in the production of Return to Vietnam.
They also filmed at Kent State University where this time 50 years ago 4 college students were cut down during an on-campus protest by units of the Ohio National Guard.
