Join us as we learn from Sonya Ross, Georgia State alumni, managing editor of Inside Climate News, founder of Black Women Unmuted, an independent media start-up, and 33 year veteran of The Associated Press, including former White House correspondent and Race & Ethnicity Editor. Among her many professional experiences include coverage of riots in Atlanta after the Rodney King verdict and being aboard Air Force One on September 11. Her work on specialty race & ethnicity coverage for the AP transformed the media’s approach to gathering news for and about people of color. She will speak on the urgency of reporting about climate change and environmental justice.
Stay after the lecture for a pizza lunch. Please RSVP here.
