STUDENT MEDIA
Student Media includes five organizations: Album 88, Neo Network, New South, The Signal, and Underground. These groups provide students with opportunities in radio, video, print journalism and literature.
Album 88
Album 88 broadcasts 24/7 on WRAS-HD2 and online at wras.org, and from 5 p.m.-7 a.m. on WRAS-FM and WRAS-HD1 (88.5 FM). It is the student-programmed radio station of Georgia State University. To get involved go to WRAS - Album 88 sign-up page to Join!
Neo Network (NEON)
Neo Network (NEON), formerly Georgia State Television (GSTV), operates as a student run media network that aims to provide members with training and hands-on experience for those interested in broadcast journalism and/or fiction production. Formed during the 1980s, NEON offers several programs and platforms for students to get involved. Videos and content can be found here and YouTube. Currently, NEON has three established programs: Panther Report News, Primetime Sportz, and NEON House (series, docs, shorts, etc.).

New South
New South is produced entirely by graduate students in the New South Writing Workshop at Georgia State University. Previously known as The Georgia State Review, we’ve been publishing new fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art since 1975. Works first appearing in New South have been anthologized in Best American Poetry, New Stories from the South, Best Small Fictions, New Poetry from the Midwest, and noted in Best American Short Stories and Best of the Net.

The Signal
The Signal is the student voice of Georgia State. It is a collective of reporters, creators and leaders and provides an opportunity for students to pursue experience within a professional newspaper environment. The Signal provides, in a fair and accurate manner, news of interest and significance to the Georgia State University community and serve as a forum for the expression of ideas of members of that community.

Underground
Underground is Georgia State University’s very own undergraduate literary journal. Our staff consists entirely of undergraduate students who attend the university’s Atlanta campus. We publish an issue of poetry, prose, and art once every semester. We love (and want) work that is experimental, daring, and a little bit weird. If that sounds like you, then consider submitting your work to us!

Atlanta Press Club
The Atlanta Press Club, established in 1964, has grown to become one of the largest and most active professional journalism associations in the country. The membership encompasses Atlanta’s burgeoning media community — print, broadcast and digital, big and small, national and local media outlets and freelance journalists.
More than half of the 550 members are working journalists. The balance includes public relations and communications professionals, nonprofit executives, journalism teachers and journalism students.
The Atlanta Press Club provides opportunities specifically for students studying journalism. Programs include a summer intern placement program and “Get the Scoop” where students hear from journalists how they got started in their career, what it’s like to be a journalist, etc.
